(enough) About me

First things first: that is NOT me in the picture - so let’s clear that up immediately. I’m currently perfecting my yoga poses, so a more accurate photo is coming… eventually.

Welcome to Sip & Savour, a playful, curious blend of food, wine, and travel. This blog is my little corner of the world where I explore how the right pairings can turn a simple meal into something memorable. I’m a passionate wine lover-equal parts eager student and enthusiastic sipper-who believes wine should be joyful, approachable, and never taken too seriously.

So why write this blog? Because I adore food and wine, of course. But also because I love pairing them with a mix of Swiss-watchmaker precision and the whimsical creativity of a treasure map drawn by your most eccentric friend. It’s that balance of structure and adventure that keeps things deliciously interesting.

As someone "in the wine business" (meaning: my business revolves around the fine art of enjoying wine), I firmly believe wine should always come with food. Wine without food is like a party without music - just a little sad, a little awkward, and missing its rhythm.

I may sit somewhere near the bottom of the sommelier food chain, but I’m endlessly curious. I love learning about wine, talking about wine, and, obviously, drinking it. And through all that tasting and talking, I’ve learned one essential truth: the best wine experiences happen at the table, shared with good food and even better company.

This blog celebrates flavour, discovery, and the joy of pairing. It’s not about perfection; it’s about pleasure.

Caveat lector : this blog is about more than food and wine.

Alongside my love of wine, I have a deep and enduring passion for art, especially the history of art and architecture (the older, the better). I even hold a somewhat impractical degree in the field. When I’m not blogging, tasting, or wandering museums, I work as a graphic artist and designer, and yes, I create all the visuals on this site myself: the infographics, maps, layouts, design elements, and photos. Well… almost all the photos. Aside from the occasional stock image (we all have our limits), the travel shots are usually taken by my husband - wine expert extraordinaire, trusted travel companion, and the steady hand behind the camera while I point enthusiastically at churches, bottles, and cheese, and insist, "No, no, trust me, this one’s essential."

So if you occasionally stumble across posts exploring art from wine regions, I hope they spark your curiosity. And if they don’t? No hard feelings, I promise not to judge.

Starting a full-time art history blog is tempting, but let’s be realistic: the only thing scarcer than my free time would be its readership.

So raise a glass with me, to good meals, good wine, good stories, and the adventure of tasting our way through it all. 🍷✨
